Graphics, you know? Those funny pictures we share with our friends on social media. Usually, something to do with cats doing something funny.
You probably came to read this post through a graphic on a social media channel like Pinterest or Facebook. If you hadn’t seen the graphic, you probably wouldn’t even know this post existed. Also, if I wrote my heart out 24 hours a day, I probably wouldn’t get one person to visit my site without graphics leading the way. But did you know you can actually make money creating graphics?
That says a lot about how important having a graphic for your business is. EVERY business needs at least a logo. More often than not, they need a lot of images created for advertising or their website and blog posts.
There is a great demand for people who can create graphics for blog posts or lead magnets posted on social media. More and more websites and blogs go up every day. That creates a need for thousands, if not millions, of new graphics. That creates a way for many to make money creating graphics.
So how can you cash in on some of that graphics love?
Start learning how to create images or, if you already know how start showing off your talents. If you don’t know how to create an image worthy of the web that goes with a blog post many tutorials can help you learn Photoshop or other software programs. Photoshop is an advanced program and can take a long time to learn.
Another way you can learn to create fantastic, professional looking graphics is by using Canva. Not only do they have a large selection of templates, layouts, images, fonts & tutorials but they are mostly FREE to use. At this time, I use Canva exclusively for all the graphics I’ve created for this blog.
Even if you do have to pay for a particular image or template, it can be as low as $1. If you decide to pay for the ability to use the item in an unlimited manner you may only pay $10. When you use this image in many of the graphics you create, you make your money back in no time at all.

There are stock photo sites you can use too, sometimes with free images or images, you can use if you give credit to the photographer. Here are a few you can look up:
Whatever you do, DO NOT USE IMAGES FROM A GOOGLE SEARCH AND DO NOT STEAL SOMEONE’S IMAGE. A good rule of thumb is that if you didn’t take or make the picture or graphic, it isn’t yours to use.
First, though, you do need to learn the basics and practice if you are new to Canva. The great thing about Canva is how easy it is to use. You will be creating stellar graphics in no time flat if you keep practicing. The more you practice and the better you get, the more likely it is you will make money creating graphics.
You do need to put in that sweat equity though. Now you need to set up a portfolio and get your name out there. Here are a few tips to get you started:
- Set up a blog
- Use a “Hire Me” page on your blog
- Share your services or “hire me” page on all your social media and LinkedIn accounts
- Showcase your work on the pages of your blog and create pages specific to certain types of graphics
- Share your graphics on social media
- Sign up on Fiverr
- Create an account on Upwork

I love creating graphics so much I use it for stress relief when my pain becomes excruciating, or I get frustrated with my illness. Even though I wrote this post to show you how you could make money creating graphics, you may only want to have some fun and share the results with your friends on social media. That’s okay too 🙂
